Abbie specializes in working with women during pregnancy and postpartum, as well as families throughout all stages. She was a birth doula for seven years, and a childbirth educator and postpartum doula prior to beginning her work as a pastoral counselor. She is an associate member currently under supervision.

C. Renee Yarmuth, D.Min., KLPC, LMHC, LMFT, obtained her M.A. in Theology at the University of Dayton focused on symbology as expressed in liturgy and ritual. Her Doctorate of Ministry in Group Dynamics from United Theological Seminary in Dayton concentrated on Body: Symbol and Sacrament. Dr. Yarmuth served as a Catholic Social Services outreach counselor in the Archdiocese of Indianapolis for during 15 years in private practice. She spent the next 15 years as Director of The Counseling Connection at Sullivan University in Louisville. She works now as a Kentucky Licensed Pastoral Counselor using primarily cognitive behavioral approaches. Her abiding appreciation for Benedictine spirituality and psalmody influenced her publications on the psalms (St. Anthony Messenger Press). She participates in the Kentucky Association of Pastoral Counselors, the Kentucky Counseling Association, the Advisory Committee of the American College of Counselors, and her parish of St. Gabriel The Archangel where she participates as needed in bereavement ministry. Dr. Yarmuth, a published poet (The Sounds Around), finds symbolism and metaphor helpful to facilitate healthy relationships to self, others, world, and spirit.

Welcome to my profile! I am Dr. Manda, a Licensed Pastoral Counselor in Kentucky. I have a Ph.D. in Pastoral Family Therapy and specialize in pastoral counseling and Psychotherapy to address the holistic needs of my clients. I am the author of Re-authoring Life Narratives After Trauma; and the Developer of a Holistic Narrative Model of Care to assist clients who want their spiritual needs to be addressed in therapy. I work with clients to develop life skills and mindsets that overcome challenges in their lives, careers, and relationships. There is no one-size-fits-all approach to therapy and I use several of them. However, I often use the Skilled Helper Model, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Pastoral Counseling, and Narrative Therapy to assess your needs, hopes, and resources; and collaboratively work towards achieving your goals of care. I started practicing therapy after my own therapeutic and spiritual journey. Dealing with my own issues and trauma inspired me to want to help others as they walked through the difficulty and uncertainty that trauma and even every day life can bring. I found peace and wholeness through many modalities including CBT, mindfulness, meditation and prayer, and EMDR. My hope for each client is to experience the abundant life that their Higher Power has for them. This may look different for each person based on their unique history and personhood. As a pastoral counselor, I address both the clinical as well as spiritual issues which often go hand in hand. I seek to walk alongside people on their journey to wholeness.

Elizabeth Ellis, M.Div. is a native Kentuckian: was raised in Somerset, earned her undergraduate degree at Eastern KY University, has had a variety of life experiences working in corporate and small businesses, served on a church ministry staff, has been married to Bill since 1986, enjoyed raising three wonderful children (all married adults now), and has practiced pastoral counseling since 2005. She started counseling as a student under supervision and developed a free counseling service in Crestwood, KY, which eventually became a satellite office of St. Matthews Pastoral Counseling Center. Since moving to Lexington in 2013, she opened a private practice, Lighted Pathway Counseling Service. Elizabeth works with adults seeking counseling for grief, depression, anxiety, anger, dysfunction in family relationships, as well as marital and pre-marital counseling.

I'm a Kentucky Licensed Pastoral Counselor (KLPC) pastoral counselor and ACPE psychotherapist, and work predominately with individuals, 18 years of age and beyond, dealing with a variety of issues, spiritual direction and life coaching. As an ordained CBF clergywoman, I use a spiritual/theological integrated approach to therapy and am experienced in working with a wide variety of religious beliefs, those who are questioning, and those who are non-believers. My experience spans thirty years during which I helped to incorporate and was heavily involved in a pastoral counseling center, a training consortium to prepare pastoral counselors for the licensure exam, and a private practice. Genene Nisbet offers bereavement care to those who grieve the loss of a loved one through death. She has provided bereavement counseling, facilitated grief support groups, and offered a variety of bereavement services, since 1993. She joined the staff of Owen Funeral Homes in 1996. Preceding this, she served as a chaplain and bereavement counselor for Hospice of Hope in Maysville, Kentucky.

Genene is a Licensed Kentucky Pastoral Counselor. She is certified in thanatology through the Association of Death Education and Counseling and is approved as an ACPE psychotherapist member with the Association for Clinical Pastoral Education.

First, I am a certified Grief Informed Professional and care for those who are struggling with all kinds of grief related to all kinds of loss.

My second emphasis is couples. I have completed Level 2 training in Gottman Couples Therapy and am prepared to guide couples in assessing strengths and challenges, and enhancing strengths and addressing challenges with evidence-based interventions (exercises) to assist the two in moving forward.

My third area of special interest is religious trauma. I come alongside people who have been wounded (in one or more of myriad different ways) by institutions or individuals whose impact left traumatic scars and shattered trust.

I also see individuals dealing with other issues like depression, anxiety, and loss of meaning. There is hope for healing, peace, and direction for life.

Dr. Jonathan Eric Carroll is a Kentucky Licensed Pastoral Counselor (KLPC), or Psychotherapist, serving also as the Founder, Clinical Director, and Lead Therapist at The Clinic @ The Montgomery. He is a Nationally Certified Custody Evaluator (NCCE), a Nationally Certified Parent Coordinator (NCPC) and an ACPE Psychotherapist. He is a graduate of Louisville Presbyterian Theological Seminary (D.Min), Princeton Theological Seminary (Th.M.), Columbia Theological Seminary (M.Div.), and King College (B.A.). His post-doctoral studies took place at the Bowen Center for the Study of the Family, the institution responsible for the continuation of the work of Murray Bowen, whose Family Systems Theory has become the lens through which Dr. Carroll practices therapy. ​ Dr. Carroll engaged in further post-doctoral studies at the Kentuckiana Pastoral Counseling Consortium, a then-approved training center for the American Association of Pastoral Counselors (AAPC). Dr. Carroll is a member of the Association for Clinical Pastoral Education and the Kentucky Association of Pastoral Counselors. He has previously served as Chair of the Kentucky Board of Licensure for Pastoral Counselors. Dr. Carroll is married to Joy Carroll and together they have four daughters.

Dr. John Lepper has a passion for helping people integrate faith and life as they find their way in turbulent times. He has provided Pastoral Counseling through St. Matthews Pastoral Counseling Center for more than two decades. He is a Kentucky Licensed Pastoral Counselor and is a Spiritually Integrated Psychotherapist with ACPE. He has authored several books and numerous articles to help individuals, families, and congregations chart the difficult areas of crisis and transitions.

Margaret Brooks is the Director of Clinical Services for Cornerstone Counseling of Madison County, CCMC. She is a Kentucky Licensed Pastoral Counselor and member of the ACPE. She is a graduate of the University of Kentucky and Rocky Mountain University, with an emphasis in physical therapy. She is also a graduate of Baptist Seminary of KY with a Masters of Divinity, emphasis in pastoral care and counsel. She specializes in working with anxiety, depression, other mood disorders, grief, trauma and spiritual issues. She also has received training in trauma-informed care, to include EMDR, in an effort to further assist individuals with trauma related disorders. Rev. Scarlette Jasper is an Associate Pastoral Counselor and is a graduate of Baptist Seminary of Kentucky with a Master of Divinity, concentration in pastoral care and counseling. She specializes in working with anxiety, depression, and other mood disorders, grief, trauma, and spiritual issues. She is an ordained minister and missionary. Her mission is to offer a safe space and to bring hope, healing, and wholeness to individuals, families, and communities by providing spiritually grounded and psychologically informed care and counseling. She loves spending time with her children and grandchildren, listening to music, times of travel and camping. She is an associate member currently under supervision.

Taylor Zimmerman is a psychodynamic clinician who is focused on helping clients achieve deep, long-lasting change. He has formal education in psychotherapy, philosophy, and theology—holding a Master of Divinity from Asbury Theological Seminary as well as a Master of Arts in Social Science and a Master of Arts in Philosophy of Religion from the University of Chicago. He is currently in the advanced psychotherapy program at the Cincinnati Psychoanalytic Institute. As a pastoral counselor, he works with both mental and spiritual issues—helping clients to process their complex grief, contradictory and sometimes confusing emotional lives, and relationship issues. He is an associate member currently under supervision.

Todd A. Claypool is the Director of Capernaum Care, providing biblically based Christian Counseling for individuals, couples, and families. Todd has earned a Master of Divinity and a Master of Science in Counseling. He is also a retired US Army Chaplain who served over 29 years in the military and has led numerous retreats, seminars, and training events on marriage, family, and personal life-skill growth.
